What time does the car park open?
We open the car park ½ an hour prior to the event starting
What time do the gardens open?
January and February open days open at 1.00pm and close at 4.30
All other days open at 2pm and close at 5.30pm
Do you have toilet facilities?
Yes, our visitor centre has plenty of toilets as well as a disabled toilet.
Do you serve tea?
Yes, we serve tea/coffee and cake along with a selection of snacks.
Is the visitor centre accessible for wheelchair users?
Yes, we have a wheelchair lift.
Do you accept coach parties?
Yes, we have many garden clubs and visitors from U3a and the WI who visit in coaches. We ask that you contact us if you are planning a coach trip as we have limited coach parking and will need to book you in.
Are the ground suitable for mobility scooters and wheelchair users.
In general, yes, the arboretum is set within 70 acres so distance can be a difficulty, but we suggest caution in the wetter months of the year. We do have paths which are generally in good repair but even these may cause problems in wetter months.
Do you hire mobility scooters.
No, we do not have any mobility scooters for hire.
Can I book a private visit?
Yes, we do offer private visit, we have a minimum group size of 25 and can offer morning and afternoon sessions, lunch can be provided if required. If you are interested, please email us on enquiries@thenford.com
